Transferred data from old HP laptop to new HP laptop. None of the programs open up on the new computer. For example, for Quicken, the icon is there but it shows an “install” link under it, but neither the Quicken link or the install link do anything. The main reason for buying this transfer cable was to get the programs over to the new computer. There was no need for this transfer cable just to get photos and docs transferred. Help.

Welcome to the Plugable forums and I can help answer your questions about the use of our USB Transfer Cables and the Easy Computer Sync software.
One of the main components of the Easy Computer Sync software is to transfer files from or between two PCs.
Programs must be installed using the original discs, installation files, or installed from the original service platforms like Steam, and Adobe for example. The Easy Computer Sync software is not designed to transfer over programs, other softwares that do this tend to cause bugs or other issues.
For the installation files please check that you are trying to access the installation file rather than a shortcut.
This is generally not a supported use-case in transferring programs with the Easy Computer Sync software.
