Problem with 2-port USB hub and Windows 8

I have a Plugable USB 2.0 2-Port Hub that I have been using with Windows 7 machines quite successfully. When I plug it into a Windows 8 machine (the Surface Pro), Windows 8 cannot install the hardware or identify it and claims that it is malfunctioning. Anyone have any insight?

Thanks for posting your question here, we’d be glad to help! Just to verify, are you able to successfully connect other USB devices to the port on the Surface Pro?Also, in certain cases when the device fails to enumerate, each successive attempt on the same USB port will also automatically fail until the system is rebooted. If you restart the system do you still see the same issue?
