Power led goes out when drive is installed

I have a Communicator U3 SATA HDD docking station. The power LED truns on when the power switch is turned on but goes out when I install my drive. Can you tell me what the problem is? I am using an iMac with OS X 10.7.3

Thanks for posting here! I’m sorry to know that you are having trouble with the Plugable Hard Drive Docking Station USB3-SATA-U3.

Some quick questions:

  1. Do you have only one SATA Hard Drive? If yes, could you give us more information about the drive ( make and model, if the drive is new or used, etc)?

  2. If you have more than one drive, do you see this issue with only one particular drive or with all drives?
