Pluggable Docking Station US 3.0 failt to connect Ethernet to USB 3.0 after update to Win 8.1 Pro (Germany)

I use a Plugable Docking Station USB 3.0 bought a couple of months ago to network my Microsoft Surface Pro with my local ethernet. This worked perfectly under Win 8 Pro (in German). However, after the update to Win 8.1 Pro (in German) the Plugable Docking Station does not connect the Surface Tablet to the internet any more. Many thanks for any help!

This problem of the UD-3000 Ethernet not connecting after the update from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 was resolved by reinstalling the DisplayLink drivers.

Here are the steps to do this:

  1. Disconnect the adapter from the computer.

  2. Run the DisplayLink Cleaner tool to completely uninstall existing DisplayLink Software:

  3. Download driver v7.4 M0 from the below link and follow the installation prompts.

  4. Reboot the computer,

  5. Replug the power adapter to the computer. Allow several minutes for the driver to enumerate and for the firmware to complete upgrade.
