Plugable USB3-HUB3ME Gigabit Ethernet Adapter not connecting

Windows 7, Plugable USB3-HUB3ME Gigabit Ethernet Adapter, switching from LAN on motherboard (which works fine, no special settings) to adapter gives no internet connection. Switching the LAN to another computer (laptop) and it connects fine, so I don’t think it’s any special settings - it should just work. I’ve re-started several times, tried other USB ports, etc. Anyone else have a problem? Latest drivers from windows installed.
