Plugable USB 3.0 docking station doesn't allow ethernet connectivity after applying win 7 updates

After applying Windows 7 updates and rebooting my laptop, my USB3.0 docking station shows “network cable unplugged”. I moved the cable to my laptop and the cable worked fine. However, my laptop only has a 10/100 NIC card, and one thing really wanted my USB3 unit for was the gigabit lan access.

It’s been working for months and just stopped working. Is there any way to diagnose why it doesn’t like my cable suddenly?

No idea if it’s connected to the win 7 updates though…
