Plugable software update for Mac

Myself and my coworker recently downloaded the most recent Apple update (macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 Update), which caused our monitors to no longer display through plugable. We believe your software needs to be updated to work with this new update.

Hi Shana, thanks for posting and contacting Plugable! Sorry to hear things aren’t working as expected.

Unfortunately, Apple inadvertently broke support for various graphics devices in macOS 10.13.4, released on March 29th. This impacts the DisplayLink chip and drivers used by virtually all brands of USB docking stations.

At this point, we do not know if Apple will restore the functionality that was broken. If Apple does not restore this functionality, it’s unclear if DisplayLink (who makes the chips in and drivers used by many USB docks, including ours) will be able to work around the issue.

Please note this is not an issue specific to Plugable products; any brand of device using DisplayLink technology will no longer function as expected in macOS 10.13.4.

To help us determine what options are available, please send over the following information to our direct support email team at support@plugable.com with ‘Ticket Number 220974’ in the subject line when you have a moment:

  1. Amazon Order ID from your dock purchase

  2. Number of monitors currently in use (with make/model information if possible)

  3. MacBook Model/Year

The following blog post will be updated as new information becomes available:

Thank you,
