Plugable slows down internet by 50%

When I connect my laptop to the internet via Plugable it slows the connection by 50% vs. directly connecting. Both are wired ethernet, and I just move the ethernet cable from the Plugable to the laptop - so everything else stays constant. I upgraded to the latest driver from the website.

Any ideas?
