PDMON portable display reads only no signal. It displayed one time now does not display
Hi Paul,
Thank you for contacting Plugable! I’m sorry the USBC-PDMON isn’t working as expected, and I’ll be happy to assist.
There are a few common reasons why USBC-PDMON display video correctly after working fine with the same host device. One reason is that the USB-C cable used to connect the dock to the host device is not the correct cable. Not all USB-C cables support DP Alt mode, and if one such cable is used then video would not be able to pass to the display correctly. With this in mind, can you please confirm if you’re using the USB-C cable that was originally included in the package with the USBC-PDMON to connect it to your host device?
Secondly, the USB-C host cable must be connected to the dedicated host USB-C port on the USBC-PDMON for it to display video. This port is the lower-most USB-C port on the right side of the portable display, and is marked with a laptop icon for easy identification:
Please let me know if this helps, and feel free to ask if you have any questions.
My apologies for the frustration, and thank you for giving us the chance to help.

Thank you for your quick response. I can confirm that the USB-C host cale that was included with the display is the cable I am using. I also will confirm it is connected to the port on the lower side labeled with a laptop icon.
I Involved our IT problem to make sure the settings were correct and updates were installed. My laptop does not find the external display. I tried another laptop with the same negative results.
Also, when first using the display it worked for only a brief time, then lost the display.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for providing those details.
Based on your description of the behavior, our next step is to get some additional information.
Can you please send an email to our direct support email address (support@plugable.com) with “For ticket # 452433” in the subject line? In the email, please include the following information:
- The Amazon/Walmart/Newegg/eBay Order ID number for your docking station purchase. If it’s from Amazon you can find this at www.amazon.com/orders
- While the portable display station is connected to your laptop (even if not working as expected), the output of our diagnostic utility PlugDebug: https://plugable.com/pages/plugdebug
This information will help us to determine the next steps.
** Please do not post the above information here in our public forum (it contains personally identifiable information) **
Apologies again for the frustration.
