plugable Bluetooth 4.0 USB adapter not connecting...

I have successfully installed my plugable Bluetooth 4.0 LE USB adapter on my PC Desktop running Windows 10. I can find the adapter in Device Manager, but it is not recognizing my Bose bluetooth speaker. What do I need to do?

Hi Gregory,

Thank you for contacting us about using your Plugable Bluetooth adapter with your speaker.

There are a couple of common reasons we see why speakers aren’t reconized:

  1. The speaker isn’t discoverable. Usually you have to press and hold a button on the speaker or go through some other process so that the speaker will tell other Bluetooth devices in the area that it is available for connection.

  2. The speaker is already connected to another device. Most Bluetooth speakers will only connect to one device at a time. If you have already connected your speaker to a phone, tablet, or another computer, please temporarily turn off that device when you try to connect to the Plugable adapter. Otherwise the speaker may just automatically connect to the previous device.

If neither of these solutions work, there may a Bluetooth driver conflict keeping things from working correctly. We especially see this if another Bluetooth adapter is built in or attached, or if the computer was updated from an earlier version of Windows.
