On BT-KEY3XL, the Win key functionality works as the Ctrl key in Bluetooth mode

Received the keyboard yesterday. When connected to my iPad via Bluetooth, the Ctrl key doesn’t work properly. I can’t use ctrl as a modifier key (e.g. ctrl-a, ctrl-x, ctrl-c). I eventually figured out that the WIN key works as the ctrl key. This applies to both the left and right WIN key.

I’ve pressed Fn-IOS repeatedly but the problem remains.

I did connect the keyboard to my PC via usb cord. The ctrl key works properly in that situation so I don’t think it is a hardware problem.

Has this problem occurred for anyone else? Is there a firmware update?

Any luck replicating the issue?

Hello Igni,

My name is Alberto and I will be filling in for support to help answer this question on this keyboard layout differences on Windows and macOS.

As for the Command (⌘) key on macOS, it is equivalent to Ctrl on Windows for most shortcuts. For example (⌘ + C instead of Ctrl + C for copy).

On iPad OS you can modify how keys behave using Modifier Keys:

  1. Go toSettings > General > Keyboard.
  2. Select “Hardware Keyboard”.
  3. Tap “Modifier Keys”.
  4. Remap keys like:
  • CommandControl

This is useful for making an external keyboard behave more like a Mac or Windows keyboard. I hope this information helps and please let me know if I can assist with any further questions.

Thanks,

Alberto
