I have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 550i and when I installed the plugable USB 3 the dirver and control panel are unusable.

Our USB video adapters and docking stations depend on the driver for your discrete graphics card to work, so if the Plugable device is working the Nvidia driver is working as well. The Nvidia control panel isn’t able to recognize any USB connected displays, so the Nvidia panel will not be able to see of configure them. You can just use the built-in Windows utilities such as Display Settings or Screen resolution (depending of which version of Windows you are using) to manage the displays.
