No sound with Thunderbolt and LG Monitor

I just connected my Dell XPS 15 to the plugable thunderbolt dock. It’s connected to an LG monitor with a display port cable. Once the laptop is connect there is no longer any sound from either the laptop or the monitor that has built in speakers. Is there a setting that I need to change?

Cancel this, I just found the setting in the sound setting page. Had to switch the source to audio card and speakers to the LG monitor. All set now.
