Thought it would be a good idea to post a solution to a problem here if someone else is looking for an answer.
I have a Dell XPS 13 (9360) running Ubuntu 16.04, kernel 4.9.5-040905-generic, BIOS 1.2.3
I just received the adapter and although the picture was very nice I couldn’t get any audio to my TV.
Problem was solved by updating my BIOS to the newest 1.3.2 version.
