No 4k 60hz with USB-C to HDMI 2.0 with 2016 macbook pro

4k 60hz not working on 2016 macbook pro with Pluggable USB-C to HDMI (2.0) cable on a Samsung UH750 monitor. 4k 60hz works when plugged directly into an XBox One with HDMI-HDMI.

Hi Tug,

Thanks for reaching out to us, I am sorry the monitor is displaying at 30Hz.

Thank you for providing the monitor model information. Based on the manual the monitor’s “Samsung Magic Bright” setting should be set to PC mode when connected to the Mac Book. Unfortunately the monitor’s manual has no specifics on how to adjust these settings so it may take a bit of time to work through the on screen menu to get the PC mode enabled. After making these changes, please fully shutdown the MacBook, wait 30-60 seconds and restart the computer.

Please let me know if this has allowed for the display to be set for 60Hz ( this may need to be done manually by opening the System Preferences -> Displays panel ).

Thank you,

Pat
