Need some ideas please

Pluggable USB 2.0 won’t see other monitor. Primary monitor blinks and shows 2 displays for a second then goes away. 2nd display never responds. I have the latest driver installed. This device use to work fine on this computer. Windows10 on older Dell desktop. Can’t find software removal tool on website (would like to remove driver and reinstall).

Hi Ted,

Thanks for posting. Let’s try the clean install you mention – we’ll also want to use the newest DisplayLink driver, which seems to help with some rare edge-case behavior on some older systems.

  1. Disconnect your USB video adapter or USB docking station (if using a docking station please also disconnect the power adapter) from your system and keep it disconnected until the last step.

  2. Uninstall any and all software with ‘DisplayLink’ in the title that is present from within the Control Panel -> Programs and Features. Don’t worry if these entries are not present or if the process does not work, just move onto the next step

  3. Download and run the DisplayLink Installation Cleaner from:
    https://s3.amazonaws.com/plugable/bin…

  4. Reboot the system, even if not prompted

  5. Download and install the latest DisplayLink 8.4M0 driver from: http://www.displaylink.com/downloads/…

  6. Reconnect your docking station (after reconnecting the power) or USB video adapter and your displays should become active

Please let me know how things work after the above and we can go from there.

Thanks!

We haven’t heard back from you, so hopefully that clean install process did the trick. If not, please contact us at support@plugable.com so we can help!
