My old computer has window vista ,when I plug in the easy transfer cable it as to insert the CD ,why?

When transferring from Vista to Win7, Microsoft’s software expects the Vista machine to get updated Easy Transfer software. Microsoft UI tries to walk through that, but it can be confusing.
If the Vista machine is on the Internet, the easier way is just to download the latest Microsoft software directly, here:

Then you shouldn’t get any further prompts for drivers (at least not for the easy transfer cable itself).
