My USB Ethernet Adapter won't work on my Mac.

I have an iMac with 10.6.8. When I try connect my USB -> Gigabit Ethernet adapter to my Mac, I get no network connectivity. I have installed version 3.6 of the driver. I"ve tried connecting with DHCP and Manual IP, but none works. Help

Hi Chris,

Thanks for posting! Sorry to know about the trouble you are having in getting network connectivity through the Plugable USB Gigabit Adapter USB2-E1000.

Some quick questions to understand the setup-:

  1. What is connected on the other side of the Ethernet cable plugged into the Plugable USB Gigabit Adapter USB2-E1000?

  2. Does the Link and Act LEDs of the Plugable USB Gigabit Adapter USB2-E1000 light up?

  3. Do you have an inbuilt Ethernet port on your system? If yes, are you getting network connectivity while connected through that port?

  4. Are there any special settings on the router/switch/modem you are connecting to? E.g. MAC address filtering?

  5. Are you running a 64-bit kernel? Are the drivers installed from the CD or downloaded from ASIX’s website?

Once you post back with this information, we will figure out the next steps.

Thanks for your patience while we figure this out!

Regards,
Roze
