MST with 2016 MacBook Pro only results in mirroring

I have a new 2016 15" MacBook Pro. I’m using the Plugable USB-C to DisplayPort Adapter to connect to a Dell U2715H input. I then have a DisplayPort cable from the OUT on the U2715H to a U2713HM. I get a picture on both of these monitors, but they are only mirrored, not unique pictures. How can I get this to work properly?

Hi Brent,

Thanks for posting! In previous versions of OS X, daisy-chaining DisplayPort monitors was not a supported feature though some reported success with MST in BootCamp.

But it will be helpful to test a bit here and see if that’s still the case with Sierra. If you haven’t already done so, you’ll want to make sure MST is enabled on the U2715H. This is in the monitor’s configuration menu where you’ll want to navigate to Display->DisplayPort 1.2 and change to “Enable”.

Can you give that a try and see if this changes the behavior?

Thanks!
Gary
