MSI GS63VR 7RF with Plugable USB-C 4K having mouse lag

Hello, I am having an issue that I’ve seen here before about the mouse lagging (stopping for a second or two) while using my laptop. I have a MSI GS63VR 7RF laptop that I’m using with the UD-ULTC4K docking station. I have tried installing the latest DisplayLink drivers and I also attempted the fix found on your troubleshooting FAQ here https://downloads.dell.com/FOLDER03471411M/13/Dell_Dock_USB_TYPE-C_PATCH_2K0JJ_A00_SETUP_ZPE.exe.

Unfortunately, nothing I have tried has worked. I would appreciate your assistance.

Hello Jesse,

Thank you for contacting Plugable support! Sorry to hear about this issue. I’d be more than happy to assist you.

To be fully transparent, we have encountered several issues with our docks and MSI systems before, many of our docks just won’t work correctly with them (usually the HDMI port on our dock won’t function). However, we’ve not encountered this specific issue with an MSI system before to my knowledge. I think as our first step in this situation, let’s get a closer look at the system.

We have a troubleshooting tool that helps us find out what is going on in situations like this. Please plug the device into your computer, then go to this page and follow the instructions there:
http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug

Also, can you tell me what make and model mouse you’re using? And, does the internal trackpad also experience the problem?

Please don’t hesitate to let us know of other questions.

Thanks again for contacting Plugable support and best wishes!

Thank you for your response. I ran the debug tool and emailed the zip file to support@plugable.com with the subject line identical to the title of this post.

I normally use a Logitech G602 and I tried it with my Logitech M525 as well. I did not see the problem occurring when I tried the internal trackpad, nor when I plug in my M525 directly to the laptop, rather than through the dock.

One other note: I am using one high resolution/frequency monitor in addition to two more standard monitors, in case the added bandwidth is an issue. They are:

1x Samsung C27HG70 and
2x Samsung C27F398.

Thanks again.
