Monitor lost in space

Hi, I am having a lot of difficulty getting my HDMI monitor to stay connected. Every time I need to reboot I have to do multiple attempts at reinstalling the display link software before it finally catches and then I can only use it in duplicate mode.

windows OS will start disconnecting items if the the computer is not being use for several hours time and causes the Plugable USB 3.0 with the second monitor requiring a reboot.

It’s not that it is disconnecting based on not being used it become completely un-connectable every time I have to reboot.

Just as a quick update for anyone following this issue, after working with Kevin the root cause in this case was somewhat unique. The system in question is an Asus T300CHI which has only one USB 3.0 Micro B connector, and it does not support USB OTG. The cable Kevin was using was an OTG cable and that appeared to be causing the issues.

In this case, using the following products in conjunction with the included USB cable in the box allowed the system to be connected:
