Monitor detected but not identified by windows.

monitor not receiving a signal, so it won’t identify. It is detected by windows (a blue screen). It is plugged into the HDMI port. Power light is on on the adapter.

Hi Marc, thanks for posting! I am sorry to hear that your adapter is not working with your monitor and I will be happy to help!

Based off of your description, the quickest variable too double check would be to make sure that your monitor is set to the appropriate input setting depending on the cable/input port that is being use. Would you be able to confirm that your monitor’s input setting is set using the buttons on the front of the monitor?

Assuming the input settings are correct, we’ll want to examine some log files to see if they can tell us what is happening. To help us do so please download and run our diagnostic utility PlugDebug –> http://plugable.com/support/plugdebug with everything connected. Please send us the file that is created on your desktop to our direct support email at support@plugable.com with ‘Ticket Number 150545’ in the subject line so we can match everything up. We’ll then examine the logs and determine next steps from there.

Thank you,

David W.
