Monitor and ethernet lose connection when copying over network

I have gotten a new pre-tested UD-3000 (old one failed) and everything is working fine. It is hooked up to two external monitors UD-3000 and Plugable DVI adapter. However, whenever, I copy a file to a network share, one of my monitors starts blinking and I lose Ethernet connection randomly. The only way to fix this is to unplug the Plugable adapter. I have the latest DisplayLink drivers. Ideas?

Hi Brandon,

Thanks for posting your question here! The issue you’re seeing has to do with a driver v7.2 bug on the UD-3000 that we’ve reported to DisplayLink. The problem occurs when a specific usage scenario with v7.2 Ethernet driver that enables USB 3.0 bursting to increase the throughput.

If you’re running Win 7, I recommend rolling back to driver v7.1 to avoid this problem(driver v7.1 on Win 8 has more caveats), here are the steps for rolling back:

  1. Disconnect the dock from the computer and run the DisplayLink Cleaner tool to completely uninstall existing DisplayLink Software:
    http://displaylink.com/techsupport_fi…

  2. Download v7.1 from the below link and follow the installation prompts.

  3. Reboot the computer and connect the dock

Try connecting the ethernet and trasnfer the file again at this point and see if the behavior is any different. Let me know how it goes!

Thanks,
Ellen
