macbook pro and usb switch

I’m trying to switch between a macmini (which works) and macbook pro (which doesn’t). Is there any configuration I need on macbook pro to let it recognize the plugable usb 2.0 switch?

What USB device are you trying to share between each computer?

What happens if you test another USB device in the switch, like a wired US mouse or keyboard?
