Mac System Profiler reports 500mA when iPad 5 or iPhone 5 connected to BC 1.1 hub. Is that accurate?

I recently received my 4-port BC 1.1 hub in order to charge and sync my new iPad Air based on all the great reviews of this hub for the iPhone 5 and iPad 4/mini.

However, when I connect my iPad, I still get the system warning (iPad not charging) although the iPad itself still has a charging indicator in the top corner.

System Profiler reports the iPad only drawing 500mA. Is this correct, or is the iPad actually drawing the additional power and not reporting this back to the system? If so, does anyone have a suggestion for getting rid of that message every time I connect the iPad?

Thanks!
