The main Thunderbolt connector on my dock feels very sloppy, and if I move the dock at all I lose the connection to the dock. This is using the cable that came with the dock. Is this normal or expected behavior? It feels physically much less secure than the connection on the computer (2 different MacBook Pros and a Dell), all of which do not lose connections to TB3/USB-C devices when they are directly plugged in.
I can’t imagine the connection is meant to be so delicate and I feel like I have received a slightly defective device.
Thank you for contacting Plugable support! Sorry to hear about this issue. I’d be more than happy to assist you.
We would not expect the dock to lose a connection if the cable is touched or the dock is moved, so it does sound like there may be an issue with your unit. I will contact you directly so we can arrange a replacement unit under warranty.
Please don’t hesitate to let us know of other questions.
Thanks again for contacting Plugable support and best wishes!
