Lenovo Yoga 2 trying to to connect two external Dell monitors via Plugable USB 2.0 DS

Hi,

I got two new Dell MDS14 monitors for christmas and I’m not able to get it working with my Plugable USB 2.0 Docking Station. I’ve got Windows 8.1 installed on my Lenovo Yoga 2 and have been using the docking station just fine up until now with a single external monitor.

I installed the latest drivers, still unable to get the third display to activate. Any suggestions?

Thanks and Merry Christmas.

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for posting. I’m sorry your monitors aren’t working as expected with your docking station. I would be happy to help!

Given your description one quick thing to check is that source input is set correctly. Can you double-check that the source input is set correctly on the monitor that isn’t working?

The second thing to check is the cable to the monitor itself. The Dell model number you mention is for the Dell stand, not the monitor model. Can you let me know what specific model monitors you are using, and the type of cable you are connecting to each (what type of connector is on each end of the cable)? More often than not the issue is with a faulty or non-standard cable or adapter, and I describe this in more detail here -> http://plugable.com/2015/07/06/video-…

Let us know if checking the input source helps and the additional information if necessary and we’ll go from there.

Thank you,

Bob
