Lenovo T470 drops HDMI-4K port on screen saver

Lenovo T470, Windows 10 Pro x64, fully patched on both Microsoft Windows and Lenovo drivers & firmware. Dock is less than a year old.

So, my setup is a pair of Dell SE2417HG (23.6 inch LCD gaming panels) with a keyboard, mouse, and Avantree headset box.

What happens is when the screen saver kicks on, the 4K monitor goes into sleep mode but never wakes up. The 2K monitor is perfectly fine, and it’s always the 4K side that drops.

I’ve gone into Windows control panels and set the displays to never power off when the laptop’s plugged in, and the screen saver is set for Blank with a 5 minutes timeout. Both screens on board programming are set exactly the same as well.

I’ve unplugged and replugged the monitor and power connectors to ensure they’re fully seated and they seem to be fine.

To get the screen back I have to unplug the power from the dock and the Thunderbolt adapter from the laptop for a few seconds, then all is well again when replugged. All devices are hanging off a known-good APC UPS with a new battery.

Any guesses? The DisplayLink Driver from January is already installed.
