Laptop/PC file transfer

I have a Plugable USB 3.0 docking station that is working very well. I was wondering if I can use it for transfering files from my laptop to my PC using a regular USB cable from the PC to the station?

scenario:
laptop->plugable USB type-A male to type-B male (supplied) cable
PC->plugable USB male to female connector on docking station

I read someplace that you need a special cable to do this, and was wondering if the docking station will do this automatically.

No the dock cannot do this.
