Laptop losing link to my UD-3900

I am using a Plugable UD-3900 docking station with my Dell Inspiron 7506 connected to connect my external monitor, speakers, and mouse and keyboard with a unifying USB receiver. The external monitor is connected to the UD-3900 with a DVI cable.

The link between the docking station and laptop gets lost many times each day. I can re-establish the link by toggling the power to the docking station. However, this is very frustrating because everything open on my external monitor screen moves to the laptop monitor during the lost connection which then requires me to move the program screens back to the external monitor.

I make sure the drivers for all devices, including the Plugable drivers, are kept up to date. I had the same problem with another laptop, a Dell Inspiron 7559, which I used to use with the UD-3900.

Hi Robert,

Thank you for contacting Plugable! I am sorry to hear that your UD-3900 docking station is not functioning as expected, and would be happy to provide additional support.

To help diagnose the issue, may I ask you to please keep the device connected to your laptop and everything still attached (even if not working as expected) and send us the output of our diagnostic utility PlugDebug? → https://plugable.com/pages/plugdebug

Once you have the logs, simply send an email to support@plugable.com with the subject line of “Ticket 383146” so that we can prioritize that case and match it to this inquiry.

If you could provide your Amazon Order ID (or other proof of purchase) associated with your Plugable device, I would be happy to check on your warranty status as well.

Thank you for giving us the chance to help!
