Lapel mic not inputting audio through USB Audio Adapter

Hi, I just bought a Plugable USB Audio Adapter and tested it through a Rode SmartLav+ lapel microphone and it is not picking up audio.

The microphone works fine through the main 3.5mm port on my computer (late 2013 MacBook Pro on IOS 11.4).

Thanks for reaching out to us about this. I’m sorry for the trouble with the Audio Adapter, and I’d be glad to help you. With respect, we’ve found that lapel microphones are not compatible with this adapter, and state that they aren’t compatible in our Product Page.

Unfortunately, this is a situation that won’t work with our adapter. If you recently purchased this from Amazon you may want to return it if you don’t have another use for it. Again, I am sorry for the trouble here. Please let me know if you have any further questions!
