Is new Seagate 4 TB Solid State Hybrid Drive SATA 6 GB with NCQ 64 compatible with Communicator U3 ?

I have been very happy with my 4 U# ports - this new drive seems dead? Is it recognized at all/compatible at all?
I was just told to avoid caps??? I use only those for proper names.

Depending on when you ordered your U3, it may contain older firmware causing the drive to not be compatible. Are other large drives (2TB+) working in your dock OK?

You may want to try updating the dock to the latest firmware and see if that helps:

If that doesn’t help, it’s possible your new hard drive could just be dead on arrival from the factory / shipping.

Thank you. I am currently running 4 (1T,2T,4T,4T) SATA drives via the Comm. U3 ports. All work remarkably well. Disk Manager 3.0 (Win 7) does not even indicate that this new one exists - even though properly seated in the port.

I will try the dock firmware update, I suspect the standard 4T SATA HD’s working in the ports indicate they are sufficiently up to date.
