Is C2D Compaq Presario V3000 compatible with Plugable USB3-HDMI-DVI USB 3.0 to HDMI/DVI Adapter?

I have this old Compaq Presario V3000 with the following specs:

Processor: Inter® Core™2 Duo CPU T5450 @1.66GHz 1.67GHz
RAM: 250GB
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

I want to have an extended display from this laptop to my TV. The problem is this:

laptop have only the following connections

  • VGA connection
  • 1 USB 2.0
  • 2 USB 1.0

TV

  • HDMI

Please advise if this can work. If not, do you have other products that can support my requirement?

Thank you.

Hi Marc,

In theory our USB graphics adapter should work with your system, but please note that there will be some sacrifice of frame rate on a slightly old machine like that. Since the CPU is not very powerful for a USB graphics, you may not satisfy the performance.

Please install the latest drivers from the download site
(http://plugable.com/drivers/displaylink).

Another note is, we recommend to use 3 feet (about 1 meter) length of USB 3.0 cable for the quality purpose. It will need most of the cable length on the HDMI side.

If they have any problems, just reply back here and we’ll be glad to help!
