Installed USB-VGA-165 on Windows 7 PC and monitor is blank (Display Link appears as a device in Control Panel)?

Downloaded and installed software without a problem. Connected device and plugged into a USB port and the device shows up on the device list along with a Monitor icon with a description of “No Monitor”. All attempts to detect the additional monitor and then to either duplicate the display or extend the display result in nothing being displayed.

Hi Tom

Thank you for posting! I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble with your dock. If it’s ok with you, the first thing I’d like to do is try to do a clean install of the device. Please try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect your display adapters.

  2. Uninstall the ‘DisplayLink Core’ software package via the Control Panel and then Programs list. This will also uninstall the ‘DisplayLink Graphics’ component if present.

  3. Download and run the DisplayLink Installation Cleaner from the link below.

  1. Restart the system, even if not prompted.

  2. Download and install the DisplayLink 8.0 driver from the link below.

  1. Reconnect your display adapters

Please let us know if the behavior changes after the above steps and we can go from there.

Thanks!

Raul

I followed all of the steps indicated with the same result. When I look at the control panel it acts as though it is working with two monitors but nothing displays on the second monitor (the one connected using the USB-VGA-165) and it is listed as “No monitor” on the Control Panel display.
