Installed displaylink and worked the first time, then cut out and can't get it to work again

Hello!
I have just purchased a plugable USBC to HDMI
( Plugable USB C to HDMI Adapter, Dual Monitor 4K 60Hz for Apple Mac M1/M2/M3, DisplayLink Multiple Displays for Thunderbolt MacBook or iMac, Driver Required (USBC-6950M))
and went though the installation process. It worked initially but then after about 5 mins both my connected screens went black, and I can’t get it working again.
When I connect the adapter to my Mac, the green light is on, but when I plug in both screens they say “no signal”. I’ve tried first connecting the HDMI plugs, then connecting the adapter to my Mac, and vice versa, still not working.
Screen recording is allowed in my privacy settings for Displaylink manager, and “allow accessories to connect” is set to “automatically once unlocked”
The DisplayLink manager app is also open from my Applications.
I don’t know why all of a sudden it’s stopped working.
I have Ventura 13.0, macbook air M1, 2020
Please help!
Thanks

Can you share the fix?

Hi there,

In our experience helping customers, most of the time, these kinds of display issues are related to the installation of the DisplayLink Manager App. The two most common issues we see are the DisplayLink Manager App has been installed incorrectly, or it is not currently actively running.

These steps will use the End-User Cleaner utility tool for removing the DisplayLink Manager Application (DLM). They are helpful when trying to troubleshoot the application itself and is a great starting point for troubleshooting most display related issues. These steps will reset the systems’s associated components, data, and user preferences to the DLM, which we can then reinstall the latest recommended DLM to ensure that the app is in a known good state.

Please note that the DLM version listed here is the current recommended version. If you are reading this at a later date than when this post was listed, please refer to our support download page for the latest recommended DLM for your DisplayLink product here: https://plugable.com/pages/displaylink.
Likewise, you can always reach out to us directly at support@plugable.com if you have any questions or concerns about installing the DLM on your macOS system.

To do so:

  1. Disconnect the device from your system. Please keep it disconnected until the last step

  2. Download the End-User Cleaner Utility Tool here → https://synaptics.com/products/displaylink-graphics/downloads/macOS-installation-cleaner

  1. Once the utility completes, reboot your computer (even if not prompted to)

  2. Next, please follow this link to download the latest DisplayLink Manager Application (version 1.9) → https://plugable.s3.amazonaws.com/bin/DisplayLink/DisplayLink+Manager+Graphics+Connectivity1.9-EXE.pkg

  3. Once the download is complete, please refer to our detailed instructions for installing the latest software here → https://kb.plugable.com/1595423

Please take note that the installation process has changed and still requires certain permissions to be set in order for the app to install properly, so we do strongly advise you follow each step carefully.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly through our support channel at support@plugable.com, where we would be happy to provide a more thorough approach to any issues that may require further investigation.
