Inconsistent Output from UD-6950Z Audio Jack

MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020)

Audio is output from the hub’s audio jack when using Zoom and apps such as Apple Music; however, sound is not output from the jack when using the browser, for example, looking at videos on YouTube or watching a Vimeo video on a web page. The Plugable Audio option is selectable, but doesn’t work in these cases.

I am currently working around this by using the Mac’s headphone jack, but it seems to me that the hub’s jack should be working in all scenarios.

Is this happening with all audio content from the web browser or just some videos?

The reason I ask is that the UD-6950Z can not support HDCP (copy-protected) content playback from Blu-ray/Netflix/Prime/iTunes/Hulu/etc.

It is ALL content, not just DHCP.

I’m thinking it might be something to do with permissions, but this is my first Mac and I don’t know my way around the machine to test my theory.

Today everything is work 100% correctly!
I get sound through the hub’s audio jack from all applications. I do not know why this is suddenly working, as the only change I made was to enable Slack to access my speaker jack rather than using the built-in speakers when using Slack’s Huddle feature. I can only guess that this somehow affected some other permissions on a certain driver. Anyway, at least for now the situation is resolved.
