I am experiencing an issue with my Plugable UD-6950H Docking Station and wanted to share a summary of my troubleshooting process here while I await a response from the support team.
Order Information
- Product: Plugable Universal Laptop Docking Station, 4K Dual Monitor
System Information
- Operating System: macOS 14.7.1 (23H222)
- Setup Completed:
- Installed and verified DisplayLink Manager for macOS is running.
- Granted necessary
Screen Recording
permissions in macOS ‘Privacy & Security’ settings. - Enabled USB accessories permission for Apple Silicon Macs.
Issue Details
The docking station is not functioning with external monitors, despite completing all required setup steps and extensive troubleshooting.
- Cables Used:
- UANTIN USB C to HDMI Cable
- Warrky USB C to DisplayPort Cable
- uni USB C to DisplayPort Cable
- uni USB C to HDMI Cable
- Monitors Tested:
- Primary Monitor: MNN Portable Monitor 15.6" FHD 1080P
- Secondary Monitor: Lenovo ThinkVision M14 Monitor
- Ports and combinations tested: Multiple ports with each cable across two different monitors.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken
- Fully reset both the docking station and my computer.
- Used PlugDebug to generate two log files:
- One after the initial setup.
- One after resetting everything.
- Verified all permissions were granted, and DisplayLink Manager was actively running.
Current Status
The docking station is under warranty, as it was purchased last week. I’ve emailed Plugable support with the above details and attached the PlugDebug log files for review.
I’ve also requested a phone call for quicker troubleshooting if possible. If anyone has encountered similar issues or has additional insights, I’d appreciate your input while waiting for further guidance from support.
