I cannot connect my new USB-VGA-165 to use my second monitor which is a tv. I hear a buzzing noise but have a blank screen.

Based on the logs provided by Christine, the problem was due to an issue with the DisplayLink driver. Re-installing the DisplayLink driver resolved the issue.

  1. Disconnect the adapter from the computer.

  2. Run the DisplayLink Cleaner tool to completely uninstall existing DisplayLink Software:

  3. Download driver v7.4 M2 from the below link and follow the installation prompts.

  4. Reboot the computer,

  5. Replug the adapter to the computer. Allow several minutes for the driver to enumerate and for the firmware to complete upgrade.
