HP Chromebook 15/UD-ULTCDL Compatibility

Hello…I am new to Chromebooks and just got the HP Chromebook 15. I’ve been trying to do some research on docking stations but it doesn’t seem like there are a lot of options out there. I am wanting to extend it to 3 monitors (2 HDMI and 1 VGA) and am looking at the UD-ULTCDL docking station. Do you know if this is doable? Would the UD-ULTCDL be compatible with my Chromebook? If not, do you have another product that would be compatible? Thanks for any assistance you can give!

Hi Caleb,

Thanks for posting!

Assuming your system may be the HP ChromeBook 15-de0000 (https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-chromebook-15-de0000/26122289/manuals), then I would expect our UD-ULTCDL docking station to be compatible.

The UD-ULTCDL dock provides two HDMI outputs and includes a DVI to VGA adapter, so your VGA display can be connected too.

I do want to be transparent and let you know that while this setup should compatible, there are known quirks with DisplayLink-based solutions and Chrome OS. You can read more about this here: https://plugable.com/2017/03/22/chromebook-compatibility-with-plugable-usb-docking-stations-and-video-adapters-2017/

If you have any additional questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Mitchell
