How to improve display quality when connected to Dell WLD15 Wireless Dock?

The WiGig connection in my Dell Wireless Docking station WLD15 only supports resolution up to 1920 x 1200. A YouTube video suggests the use of a Plugable bus-powered external graphics adapter to improve the graphics. Thoughts? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRXkP… (Note: the adapter shown in the video does not seem to appear on the Plubable website.)

Thanks for posting! This is an interesting question, but not something we’ve tested ourselves. Wireless docking stations are extremely sensitive to bandwidth and interference issues, which are the main concerns.

So while one of our 4K-capable USB graphics adapters attached to the dock would indeed enable you to run a higher resolution display, unfortunately it’s difficult to know what the performance trade-offs will be given all the additional bandwidth that will be utilized by adding the adapter.

Thanks,
Gary
