How to connect TV to Winbook TW802 with Plugable Universal USB 3.0

Winbook TW802 with Plugable Universal USB 3.0 - I’d like to connect my TV to my tablet. I connected the tablet to the docking station. I used the HDMI cable to connect my tv to the docking station HDMI. My tablet doesn’t recognize there’s an extended display w/the tv. Is it possible to do this with the docking station?

Hi Susi,

Thanks for posting! I’m sorry the TV isn’t working when connected to the dock. I’d be happy to help.

I looked up the specifications of your tablet (http://www.microcenter.com/product/44…) and the first thing to ensure is that you that you have installed the latest version of the DisplayLink driver for the dock (http://plugable.com/drivers/displaylink) and are connecting the docking station to the full-size USB 2.0 port on the tablet (not the micro-USB port). Also please make sure the power cable is firmly connected to the dock and plugged into a wall outlet.

If you have already installed the driver and the dock still isn’t working, the next step would be to clean the current driver from your system and re-installing to make sure the installation process completed without error. Please follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect the dock from the tablet and please remove the power cable from the dock so it turns off completely. Please keep it disconnected until the last step.

  2. Uninstall the DisplayLink Core software from the Control Panel -> Programs and Features. Don’t worry if this fails, just move onto the next step

  3. Download, extract and run the DisplayLink cleaner tool, found here:
    http://displaylink.com/support/sla.ph…

  4. Once the Cleaner has been run, reboot (even if not prompted to)

  5. Now download and run the 7.7 M4 DisplayLink software, found here:
    http://displaylink.com/support/sla.ph…

  6. Reboot, even if not prompted to

  7. Once you’re back in Windows, reattach the power cable to the dock first. Once the dock is powered on, reconnect it to your tablet which will trigger the final portion of the installation

Hopefully that gets everything going properly. Let us know the results when you have a moment and we can determine the next steps from there.

Thank you,

Bob
