How do I install new Samsung SSD in MacBook Pro?

Macbook Pro 13" mid 2010. Running High Sierra. I have the Plugable 3.5"/2.5" SATA HDD/SD Docking Station and the new Samsung 500 GB SDD. How do I transfer the information from the existing hard drive to the new Samsung SSD? I know how to open the Mac and switch out the hard drives.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for contacting us!

Unfortunately, we do not directly support system backup software or disk cloning software. However, some of our customers and a few employees have used programs like SuperDuper ( https://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDup… ) to perform backups on their macOS systems. This software is from a third party and we offer no support or warranty for its use.

Also, please be aware when using duplicating a drive or using cloning software the destination drive will be overwritten and any data previously on the drive will not be recoverable.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions.
