Help Setting up Docking Station 3.0 for multiple monitors

I’m trying to set up the Plugable USB 3.0 docking station to set up multiple monitors, I have a Dell Latitude 7480. I have two monitors, one I’ve hooked up via VGA (through the black provided adapter) and I have a HDMI to DP. However for some reason it’s not registering multiple monitors, the only one it is showing is the VGA hooked up monitor and the HDMI (in the docking station) to DP (in the monitor) isn’t displaying at all. I need assistance in getting this set up so I can display three monitors, what should I do.

Hello Amber, thanks for posting and I will be happy to help.

Unfortunately, connecting from an HDMI output port to a DisplayPort input port generally does not work with HDMI to DP cables. These cables are typically only used to go from DP output to HDMI input and it likely explains why this monitor is not being detected and displaying an image.

Would you be able to let us know the model of monitor or if it has other available input ports? We may be able to determine a solution to connect to it from our docking station.

Thank you,

David W.
