HDMI port not working on HP i7 Laptop

My HDMI output port is not working, I am trying to attach my monitor through HDMI but no signals are detected by the monitor. I also tried the VGA to HDMI converter, it detected the monitor but later got freezed and afterwards again there were no signals detected.
