HDMI Port 1 Not working

All three of the HDMI ports were working just fine until last week when HDMI Port 1 failed. Trying to use a different HDMI cable and a different monitor didn’t fix the problem. I also tried reducing the resolution on port 1 first and then, all of the them. That also didn’t resolve the issue. The same monitor on port 2 and port 3 works just fine. Based on these tests, I bellieve HDMI port 1 is faulty.

To help bring clarity to the public, this customer had reached out to us directly through support@plugable.com, and the following, is a brief summary of the resolution to this case:

Ths customer reported that HDMI Port 1 on a Plugable UD-3900PDH docking station stopped functioning. He confirmed extensive testing across multiple monitors, HDMI cables, and systems, showing that the issue persisted only on HDMI Port 1. Ports 2 and 3 continued working normally.

Initial troubleshooting confirmed that HDMI 1 uses DisplayPort Alt Mode while HDMI 2 and 3 use DisplayLink. PlugDebug logs first suggested HDMI 1 was detected, but further testing and new logs showed it was consistently non-functional, indicating a hardware fault.

Plugable support confirmed that a warranty replacement was necessary. A pretested UD-3900PDH was shipped via UPS (tracking provided), and the customer later confirmed receipt and successful setup. The case was closed.

We would like to thank this customer for reaching out to us direclty. They were a pleasure to work with and we are happy to see that they are back up and operational.
