HDMI on USB-C 4K not working

Hi,

I am using my Pluggable USB-C 4K with my MSI GP63 Leopard with 2 Samsung 4K Monitors on Display Ports and its working fine; today I changed my monitor to standard HP on HDMI, and the port in the docking station is not detecting my display.

Thank you for contacting Plugable support! Sorry to hear about this issue. I’d be more than happy to assist you.

Unfortunately we know from reports from other customers, most MSI systems do not support our docks correctly as they have historically lacked proper USB-C VESA DisplayPort Alternate Mode video output. Our dock requires this support for the HDMI port to function.

Looking at the specifications from MSI on your system, it is equipped with “1x Type-C USB3.1 Gen2”, but they do not call out that it has DisplayPort Alternate Mode support. Given the behavior here with the HDMI not functioning, and our past experience with these systems, it’s likely that our dock won’t be able to fully function with your system.
