HDMI 1 does not display an image, HDMI 2 and 3 both work. I have switched my monitors around between each; all the monitors work on 2 and 3, but nothing works on 1. I want to plug in a 3rd monitor, and nothing helps. I even switched to a new unit with Amazon, and there was no change. What do we do next? I have a HP Laptop 15-ef0xxx. Does computer HP Laptop 15-ef0xxx support USB Type-C DisplayPort Alternate Mode video output?
Hello there,
Thanks for reaching out on our support forums.
Unfortunately, this is expected behavior as your laptop does not support DisplayPort “alt-mode”. This is a technology that allows for a video signal to be sent via USB-C port (not supported on USB-A).
We do have some devices that will allow for 3 or more displays without the need for “alt-mode”. If you’d like to know more about those just let us know.
In the meantime, I would recommend returning the UD-ULTCDL as one display will not function.
Sincerely,
Mychal
