Have Duplicate dispay YES, Extended Display NO. What's up with that?

I’m using W 7 home premium. I can duplicate the display in monitor #2. However, when I set it for Extend the display, my mouse pointer will not move to the second display and while monitor #2 has the screen saver it doesn’t have any of the shortcuts etc.

Thanks for posting here! When a display is in ‘Extend’ mode, Windows considers the additional monitor as extra space to render the display. Hence the icons will only show up only on the primary monitor and not on the second display.
