Game audio not getting picked up

Hello I purchased the Nix capture card and I’m having a problem getting game audio to come through obs the capture card comes up as a source but I am getting no audio. I’m attempting to stream from my PS4 and I have my headset plugged into my PS4 via usb that I hear the game and my chat through so I don’t want to loose that. I only want my game audio from my capture card to get picked up on obs. What do I need to do?

Thank you so much for reaching out to us! The NIX HDMI Streaming & Capture Card captures all audio via the HDMI port. In order for OBS to receive the audio from the capture card, you would need to set the audio configuration on the console to output via the HDMI port, and not the USB port on the PS4. You will also need to setup an additional Audio Input Capture source inside of OBS in order to properly sync and capture the audio. It is possible to also connect the headset to your PC, and then “monitor” the sound that is being capture inside of OBS by the capture card, so that you can still hear all audio from the game-play, while also capturing it. If you would like to use a headset connected to the PS4 and capture the audio, you would need to utilize a Mixamp or Digital Audio based headset, so that you can output via the HDMI on the console, and hear audio via the optical port on the system.

Hi Everyone,

Austin was able to reach out to us directly, and we found that the issue was specifically related to attempting to capture the audio via the Nix HDMI Streaming & Capture Card while also outputting the audio via the headset connected to the console, which is not possible while streaming with the Nix.

We were able to find a solution for capturing and hearing the audio by “monitoring and outputting” the capture audio inside of OBS, and we are happy to help Austin with any configuration help he will need in the future.
