My cordless mouse and keyboard randomly freeze and then after 10 - 15 seconds unfreeze, when plugged into the USB 3.0. When I unplug fromthe Plugable and plug them directly into the computer, they work just fine.

It sounds like you may be running into an wireless interference issue, which can happen any time you a connect a USB 3.0 device to your system as they both operate on similar frequencies. If you move the USB receiver dongle for the mouse and keyboard to one of the top-most USB 2.0 ports on the back of the docking station does that help change the behavior?
